Virginia Video!

Here it is, guys! I hope you enjoy and see maybe a glimpse of our weekend in Virginia. We can not wait to go back! Feel free to read more about our trip here.

Many thanks again to Mary and Barry for welcoming our stay and are also live role models of what mine and Zac's day dream would be like.

Weekend: Marion, VA

Stories at my fingertips Virginia Weekend
Happy Monday and Memorial Day everyone! Here are some photos of our weekend trip to Virgina. Oh man, let me just say that everything was absolutely perfect[minus the allergy attacks that Z and I had - we didn't let that minute fact stop our enjoyment though!]. I will be posting an awesome video of our trip soon! Many thanks to Mary and Barry who were so kind to welcome us into their home for the weekend. For journaling purposes: As we arrived late on Friday night, Barry gave me a tour of their beautiful home which is quite frankly Zac and our dream home. Their charming home had a wrap around porch with ceiling fans, stair cases on both sides of the home, a cellar, city AND well water, and pretty much everything that my little heart would ever desire! It sat quietly in front of a sparkling river and beneath a blanket of the brightest stars that I've ever seen. They had a balcony on the second floor too, so we stepped outside for a bit and it was so incredibly hard for me to go back inside because I couldn't stop staring at the stars and the lightning bugs while listening to the music of the river. Behind their home was their garden that consisted of grapes for their homemade wine, garlic, raspberries, cabbage, carrots, onions, potatoes....oh, I could go on! There were also massive clear hills for hay in the back and in front of their home were untouched trees that were so colossal that provided precious clouds of cool shade.

Not only did our eyes feast on the endless amount of beauty that nature provided us, but Mary and Barry also provided our bellies with delicious feasts day in and out. Our glasses and plates were never empty thanks to the queen of the kitchen, miss Mary. We ate pretty much everything homemade! I'm talking about homemade ice cream, apple pies, coffee that was roasted by Barry himself, wine, juices, marsh mellows[!!!], salmon caught by Barry, and I can't even remember every single thing that I ate because I ate so much. We were able to enjoy our meals outside on their porch for lunch. Zac, myself, and his mom entertained ourselves on the swing that Barry put up for us by the river. We all also played Apples to Apples until the wee hours in the morning and Ladder ball on their luscious green grass. I remember Barry saying that there was 'no schedule' to follow and I believe at that moment, I was close to heaven. Mary also said that we were all truly blessed and from that, I know was the truest statement of that whole weekend.

Every word or emotion that I have mentioned in this post is the furthest thing from an exaggeration. If only I was able to take all of you with me to share the experience. And well, of course with Mary and Barry's permission. Haha. It was really the perfect weekend. I volunteered Zac and I to go back soon to help them harvest their apples! Wooo hoooo! So excited for that! Also, they were kind enough to send home with all of us goodies such as wine, apple juice, pies, food, and overall....an incredible weekend.

So, onto the very few pictures! PS. These pictures only barely captured our experience!

Cluttered.

This is just a reminder post to myself that I completely missed the whole Spring Cleaning fever. This is only half of a random table in my living room with a whole bunch of junk on it. A lot of movies, jewelry, art utensils, office supplies, the picture that Zac gave me for Valentine's Day, old records that I thrifted....which by the way, I thought was way awesome because one of the records[as you can see in the picture] was a perfect fit for this post. I don't believe I'm a hoarder, though my sister has called me one as a joke[at least I hope so!]...but I really do need to throw away a lot of items that I don't necessarily use. Is it just me? Or do some of you keep things in fear that you'll never find something like it again? I just love unique items so much that I can't stop collecting. I do know that I need a better organization system though. So, here's to those of you that did not have Spring Cleaning fever. Who knows? Maybe I'll get the Summer Cleaning fever. We will see!

As of this present time though, I'm still in Virginia and will be heading home tonight. Crossed fingers that I learned how to do something awesome and took a lot of pictures!

Man, this post is just another smack-in-the-face reminder that I need to get on with decorating my apartment. Yes, you read that right. I have yet to decorate my apartment. Master procrastinator here!
Onto other news: I usually don't like to include anything to Inspriday posts because I think they should be purely inspirational only....but this is an exception because I don't feel like two posts are necessary for today. After work, I'm off to Virginia! I  can not wait to kick back, relax, and hopefully learn how to make homemade marshmallows, drink wine, eat a lot of home cooked meals, and breath in the city-less air. The weekend is going to be so good to me. I can just feel it! Wishing you all a beautiful Memorial weekend holiday!

Date Night at Zona Rosa

Yesterday night, Z and I decided to have a sweet date night at Zona Rosa. The restaurant is literally adjacent to the building where I used to work prior to me working from home. I remember when I used to work in the office, I would call in a chicken sandwich with cheese[because their cheese is amazing!] or a Zona Rosa burger, which consists of the best beef patty ever, bacon, mini salad, and avocado.  Both sandwiches are so unhealthy though, ha! Anyway, here is a glimpse of our night.

The bean dip had cheese melted on top of it. Talk about drooling at the table!

Yep. I had the burger. I mean, I had to for the sake of old times....er, right?

I love date nights with this fella. Cheers to more of those! Also, today after work...I will be heading to Gadsden with Z to a friend's graduation. There's going to be a pre and after party and I'm kind of excited. That reminds me. I need to find an outfit! Oh darn...

Have a B-E-A-U...tiful day folks!

Wandom Wednesday

Yeah, I know the title is a bit corny...but corny is always welcome here in this part of the blog world.

Stories at my fingertips Z and M drawing

This is a store reciept that I drew Z and I on. It's so sloppy and smudged with water, but I was bored at work and ended up with this. I need to draw more. Apparently my drawing skills lack when using just an ink pen. Does it even look like us? My face is too skinny and Z's hair is too big. Haha. Oh well....the imagination just takes over, I assume.

Stories at my fingertips Tulips

I was having a terrible day[remember this post?] and Z popped in with these beautiful tulips to cheer me up. Gah, I love this man. I saw this picture in my photos on my phone and wanted to post it here for memory. It seems like he always knows what to do. That kind of characteristic is a rare find in many and I'm so thankful that he has it.

Stories at my fingertips Daniel Luke

Awe!!! I know, I know...I have the cutest babies in my family. Remember when Daniel Luke was first introduced on my blog? Look how much he's grown! He's such a handsome fella, isn't he? I keep wishing that my Aunt doesn't stop making babies because they're all just absolutely GORGEOUS, but I know that after four babies...she's pretty set. I can't wait to meet him in person!
So, wandom Wednesday it is folks! Hope you all have a great day!

Mini Life Update

I decided to skip Gathering Sanity Tuesdays today and get back into more of a journaling blog. No worries, the feature still exists....just not today. I had almost 4 or 5 scrolls worth of reading[a lot of blabbering...] typed up, but after reading every summary that started off with, "I'd like to write a separate post about this..." or "This subject deserves it's own post..." I decided eventually that I won't do that to you all or the "subjects". I'm just going to actually write the posts instead of talk about them. So, I erased it and now this is what you get.
A lot has been going on outside of the blog world. This explains my infrequent and sporadic blog posts. Just a quick summary, aka, mini life update: I finally quit Banana(my last day is the 26th!), I passed the COMPASS test for school(HIGH FIVE!), went to church for the first time ever with Z's mom(more on that later...), and will be heading up to Virginia this weekend for a peaceful time with Z's mom & their close friends who are pretty much family. I'm super excited to have a weekend away from the city, traffic, stress....and just be surrounded by nature, good food, and good company. That's what I have been up to. What about you all?

Work Blab

Work Blab Stories at my fingertips

Welcome to the second go of this new feature. I'm going to try to start posting these without a summary included, such as this one, or anything other than funny/WTF work related items. Since it's still new...I feel that I have to introduce it still. I guess you can call this a blogger's habit. Word.

Customer Service:
Man: I'd like to make a Visa payment and I'm in a big rush, so can you hurry please?
Me: I'd be more than happy to help you with that. May I have your card number please?
Man: (Starts pushing buttons on the phone consistently...) Did you get all of that?
Me: I apologize sir, I can not see the numbers that you are pressing. Will you please read the numbers to me?
Man: (Scoffs...) Can I not just fax it to you? It's easier that way for me.
Me: Sir, I don't recommend faxing a copy of your debit card...but again, I can simply process your payment over the phone.
Man: (More scoffing...) Yeah, 4...2...1...7...... is there a charge for this? There better not be.
Me: No sir, there is no charge for making a payment over the phone or online.
Man: I'm not interested on going online. Are you done yet? I have to go!
Me: Would you like your confirmation number sir?
Man: No, I don't want any of your offers. I'm not interested!
Me: Sir, I was only asking if you wanted a confirmation for your payment.
Man: Oh...uh, no and I don't have time for this.
CLICK.

*I'm going to start adding "Lesson of the situation" remarks just for fun...like this:

Lesson of the situation: Many people forget the Golden Rule and sometimes you just have to laugh at the situation in general. Who knew that someone would think a Customer Service Representative had telepathic powers, eh? I just took it as a compliment. So thank you, sir.

Monthaversary: 14

Yes, yes...this blog supports sappiness and also celebrating every 20th of the month that others may find a little annoying and unnecessary. Thank goodness that I'm in charge of this blog, right? Ha. So, I'm going to deem these "monthaversaries" now because "anniversaries" technically are not the right term. I need to go back to my older posts and correct the wordings. Now, onto the sappiness!

Stories at my fingertips Inspriday

This is Z and I when we first started dating and also what I consider our first picture together. I don't even know if we were an official couple or not on this day, but apparently we were to everyone else already because Skylar made us take this picture together. Hence, the awkward "What am I doing here?" face from Z. Hehe. Can you see it in my eyes how many butterflies were floating around in my stomach? How I was on cloud nine standing beside this funny face making gentleman? How I looked at the camera and told it, "This is the guy for me and I am one lucky gal." I bet you could see all those things and much more. He brightens me up, not just my day.

Stories at my fingertips Inspriday

This is us today. Well, almost a month ago...but you know, we're still the same. Ha. I totally don't wish to sound like a person that stares at their own picture, but is it just me or does it seem like we look so different from a year ago? I mean obviously both of our hair grew, but I'm just going to be blunt here and say that Z lost weight while I on the other hand gained. [Scoffs to self.] No matter the shifting of weight though, I still have that same look on my face and luckily, Z is actually attempting a smile for the camera. Skylar, the same friend that took our first picture, took this recent one too. How sweet is that?
I only hope that we acquire many[times forever] more pictures like these. Oh, how I would love it to have an album of us with pictures from each year and then be able to look back at it several years later to watch ourselves age and grow in pictures. I only know that the look in my eyes telling the camera how I feel about this wonderful man will not go away. And of course, I can not post an anniversary post without a special letter to Z. Go ahead folks, puke now. Haha.
Dearest Z,
I know that you're reading this like a good boyfriend would and I bet you are so stinkin' cute reading this very word...and the following ones because you scrunch up your nose when you read/study and I find it so adorable. How about, did you know that I love watching you read and study because of that? Is that too much? I hope not... Did I fail to mention recently that you're my favorite person? Or that you're the first thing that I think of when I wake up in the morning and also the last? It boggles me to think that we're in the double digit months. I know that we were big on celebrating every month up until our one year, but then our schedules grew heavy and time turned a little bit against us. For the past few months, we have had to literally schedule free time together...even if it was just to grab lunch together or watch a movie. I don't thank you enough, love, for putting up with my schedule because of my two jobs and not having enough time for you.....well, time for us. I hope you remember that every moment I'm not with you, I'm wishing that I was. I could write forever about how much I love you and how much I appreciate you or how grateful I am, but to me, the most important thing is to show you. I hope to do that everyday, because you do that for me. That alone makes me the happiest lady in the world. Cheers to our 14 months and counting. I love you today, tomorrow, and forever....yes, I said the "f" word. Haha.
