S-T-R-E-S-S

....who in this world has had the capability to escape from the biggest mind harasser of all time? I try my best to avoid it and defend my sanity every day, but the stress monster has become stronger and stronger. So, in dire need to relieve some stress that has been boggled up in my mind for so many months....here I am to b-r-e-a-t-h-e.

When I looked up "stress" I came across this wondrous painting by Natalie Holland. What a perfect visual summary of the mess in my head right now. I love it!

I also wanted to share that when I researched for stress pictures, I found it amusing because there were a whole lot of wedding pictures that popped up? How interesting, yes? Maybe it could be because planning a wedding can be stressful, but they were all pictures of married couples and such. It was odd to me, to be honest. Ok, on to other things...

With an urge to sift things off my chest, here's a list(I love lists, by the way. Haha.) of what I am stressing over currently.

1. The move to Savannah next year.

2. That green paper, since the flow will change soon.
3. SCAD!
4. Family/Friends.
5. Being alone. (That's right, I don't know anyone in Savannah at the moment...but it will be an exciting challenge! & I can't wait to meet new people and make plenty of friends!)

Geez, I think about how much stress I have, then again I find myself being a selfish individual because of how little my worries are compared to the many less fortunate in our world. Shame on me. Due to this, I feel that I should keep this selfish stress vent to a minimum. I'm only hoping for the best!

By the way...I'm sorry this was not a happy blog. Hopefully the next!

New craves, shoe faves.

So, last night I was flipping through a Lucky magazine and came across some adorable sandals. Luckily enough, a website was provided and boom...there goes the rest of my night, online window shopping on http://www.amiclubwear.com/. Now, my first impression of this site was that it was mainly for club goer's and sassy women who like to partially portray a playboy bunny...mmmmm, but as I looked on they had a lot of attractive, "hide your money" shoes and really, really, I mean...really good prices!
I immediately texted my fashionista sister with so much excitement, thinking that I hit a pot of gold or something. Well, little did I know, she replied with a "Where have you been? Hiding under a rock?" message. I was a little disappointed and a bit upset that she nor my other sister, with whom I live with, failed to tell me about this site. I might have bickered for a minute or so, but soon forgot as I clicked on and on...browsing around. Maybe it's just me, but I was not so interested in their clothes and such on the site. I mostly stuck with the shoes and here are some shoes below that I might just have to buy soon and wanted to share.
Fuchsia Multi Fabric Gladiator Platform Wedge Sandals($24.99)
These would go perfect with a cute white dress, or even khaki shorts with a white button up men's shirt.

Pewter Metallic Faux Leather Thong T-strap Slingback Flat Sandals($14.99)
Oh...you can pair these cuties with so many outfits, I can not even fathom my ideas.
Nude Faux Leather Studded T-strap Ankle Strap Ballet Flats($9.99)These are so cute! Perfect for a shopping walk, or a nice day out in the park.

Gray Faux Leather Platform Strappy Ankle Bootie($24.99)Three words, GIRL'S NIGHT OUT! :)

Tan Faux Leather Strappy Open Toe Platform Bootie($25.99)
These would be great to amp up a casual outfit and also something to switch out with the regular black heels that we all wear too often.

What a wonderful world.

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend, whether it be with family, friends, or your lovely self. I just wanted to share some pictures, fond memories, and I hope to be able to keep this up!

Walking downtown Birmingham for some yummy Subway and to meet up with some sun honey pals!

My lovely cousin, Kelly and I at Highland Park, downtown. We met up with some of our wonderful friends and had Sunday Funday at the park, playing Frisbee and volleyball. I will have to say, we're brave girls for wearing skirts, but it was such a beautiful day...we just couldn't help it!

Kelly and I at HoundStooth in Tuscaloosa, AL on Thirsty Thursday, meeting her sweetheart friends. I had an amazing time! Thank you ladies for the great night and the fabulous Long Islands!

My first time climbing Yogurt Mountain! I had the yummy opportunity to be creative and entwine three fantastic frozen yogurt flavors of pomegranate, peach, and strawberry...topped with blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, a dash of peanuts, and honey! I can't wait to go back. Hmmm...maybe later on today will suffice! :)

Kelly's first time at the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham. I love all types of gardens, but this one is quite amazing! As witty and quirky Asians, we felt the need to exercise our Kung Fu skills with this lovely entrance. (I really don't know Kung Fu, but I can't speak for Suzy or Kelly in this case...haha)

Here I am with my Karate Kid impression! I had to jump over to the rocks/boulders so I did not mess up the Zen garden. I was so proud of myself! Haha.

Until next time folks! Which, hopefully will not be long! :)

Watercolor Fever

Ok folks, I just wanted to throw out there that it took me a lot of courage to post this up here, but here is a watercolor painting I attempted today. I really don't know what type of flower it is and to be honest, I consider it a poor miss of an ugly flower. The weather was beautiful today though, as I stared at the blank page and with different and confused strokes, it turned into this.

Gosh, I have not painted or drawn in FOREVER and I miss it dearly. That is why I have a current fever for painting, drawing, crafting...and just all sorts of creative juices that I need to let loose! I have always loved art, but for some odd reason...I never took a class in high school. It was a mandatory class in elementary of course, but why-oh-why did I skip out in high school? I am glad though, that I was able to take a class or so my freshman year in college. My professor was surprised that I didn't take any art classes in high school. Actually, she kind of gave me a confused and sad glare, but she did say on a positive note... due to no technical training, my artwork has the capability to be more original and genuine. I thought that was terribly kind of her to say and it made my willingness to learn take off!

I hope that gradually I will be able to watercolor paint like this talented man's painting(Tom Fong). Feel free to click on the picture or his name to see more of his and different artist's beautiful artwork. I value any type of art, whether society deems it as good or bad artwork. Personally, I don't believe there is such thing as "bad artwork". Unappealing or subjective? Sure....but never bad. Art is art and every piece has an opportunity to have it's own admirer.

Weekend recap.

This weekend I took a trip to South Carolina for a friend's wedding reception and of course, also to see my family and friends. It was a much needed trip because I have been so homesick lately. Most people might cringe at the fact that the drive from Birmingham to Spartanburg is 6 hours, but I love it. I love driving, especially by myself. This may sound corny, but when it's just me, the road(minus bad drivers), and good music...I could drive all day.

Speaking of bad drivers, unfortunately I got a taste of traffic hell Friday evening because of an accident. Thankfully no one was seriously injured, but I left Birmingham just early enough to skip the horrid Atlanta 5 o'clock traffic, but nope....traffic found me. I was already on I-85, an hour from the South Carolina borderline and BOOM....there I was at a complete stop. Due to this unexpected jam, I was an hour and a half late to the reception, but I finally made it and had a wonderful time! Congrats to Drew and Lindsay!

On Saturday, my Aunt Jane and I had a little free time to do some shopping. Where did we go? Of course to Rue21 to visit my sister Tasee. Oddly enough, she copied my outfit that day...so we had to get a picture together. I can't believe she's taller than me and growing up so fast! :(

Sunday, strolled on by and my Uncle took us to the lake! Yay! I have not been to the lake so long and my visit was also way overdue. So, Uncle introduced us to Lake Johnson. It was secluded, quiet, beautiful, and just a beautiful day to be outside!
Aunt Jane and I on the boat. We were multitasking...paddling & taking pictures!

My youngest sister, Kimbug! She was so excited about being on the water and looked adorable in the Barbie life jacket! It was so great to spend some time with her before I left.

Lake Johnson
My first cousin, Ryan and I paddling. It was definitely an arm workout and I loved every minute of it!

Kimbug, still paddling away. I loved that she enjoyed the lake so much! Sometimes I wish I were still in South Carolina so I can have more time with my younger sisters and more memories like these.
Even though I was devastated for leaving, I know I'll be back before I know it. South Carolina will always, always, always be home for me. I'm back in Alabama now and the weather is great! Until next time bloggers/readers/people who are bored and happened to show up here! :)

My Uncle is a big outdoors person. Whether it is hunting, fishing, or what ever the south does outside season....he's there! Thank you Uncle for the sweet trip to the lake! :)

I've been dreaming of

stunning Savannah, GA...

As I lay in bed at night, I hear the whispers dance from Savannah to my dreams, telling me to visit soon. I have a trip planned with my sisters and a few friends in maybe the next month or so. Though there are no set dates yet, we are all so excited! It is such a beautiful place and I can not wait to explore and feed my hungry eyes with the beauty Savannah has in store. So, now as I lie asleep in the darkness, I dream of Savannah.

Right On.

Have you ever had a day, time, or moment that you just want to put on repeat over and over again? I do. Actually, I have a few...and I'm sure we all do, but I wonder when we know if we're "working life right", per the adorably drawn picture? Maybe we should realize we are working life right when those certain times or memories pop up in our heads and bring a smile to our faces. How about we don't focus so much on doing it right though, instead, focus on what makes us smile and what gives us the urge to wake up in the mornings. Happiness is the key to glee, don't you agree? :)

Speaking of happy, it is finally the middle of the week and I am so ready for my weekend trip to South Carolina to see old friends and family. Hopefully I can get some pictures and get my blogging on. Also hoping this week will wisp on by...as a wise person that I know would say, "When you're right, you're right."
